Officer's Biographies

General Chairman Clinger

Travis Clinger is a Senior at Astronaut High School and serves as State Chairman of the Florida Federation of Teenage Republicans and General Chairman of the Astronaut High School Teenage Republicans. Travis is an Eagle Scout who actively serves his community. Travis is Vice-President of Academics of the National Honor Society, National Representative for the Biology Honor Society, Vice-Chairman of the Student Advisory Council to the Titusville City Council, and an active member of the Model Student Senate. During his Sophomore year Travis represented Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma. This year Travis served represented Sen. Bill Frist, the Majority Leader, in the Model Student Senate. Travis has attended the HOBY Leadership Conference and has become an active member in the HOBY organization. Travis is currently enrolled in several AP classes and actively participates in the Dual Enrollment Program taking such courses as Calculus I and II, Economics, Biology I and II, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Pyschology at Brevard Communicty College. Travis is a Republican because he supports family values, small government, fiscal responsibility, and the War on Terror. Travis values greatly Goldwater's Conscience of a Conservative and Gingrich's 21st Century Contract with America. Travis has read widely in political and philosophical thought.

General Vice-Chairman Edson

Joshua Edson is currently a Senior at Astronaut High School in Titusville Florida, and is the current General Vice-Chairman of the Teenage Republicans of AHS.  He was a member of the JV basketball team at Astronaut High School during his Sophomore year, and he started college classes at the local community college during the summer after his Freshman year.  During his Junior year Joshua became involved in the Brevard Model Student Senate where he represented Senator Michael B. Enzi of Wyoming.  Joshua is a Republican because of his strong beliefs in moral values, family, small government, fiscal responsibility, national defense, and equal opportunity.  Joshua is a strong Christian, and his favorite book, therefore, is the Holy Bible.  Joshua's favorite movie is "Glory," because it shows the values of the first Republicans in an idealistic way.
